ToT

Some more observations and thoughts from my trip to and from Pennsylvania these last couple of weeks:

1.  The more you have to go to the bathroom, the more traffic you will hit and the farther away the bathroom will be.

2.  The alphabet game is more fun when you have someone to play against!

3.  Eating in restaurants by yourself isn’t as scary as I thought it would be.  I thought it would be harder than it was and that I would be worried about everyone staring at me, but once I figured out what I wanted and started reading my Nook, I didn’t pay attention to anyone around me.

4.  I love, love, love Saladworks!  I may have put that in the last ToT, but it was so good!!

5.  I wasn’t a big fan of the Fox 29 News.  I missed my Gene and Kim and Cindy and VB.

6.  People drive like a$$ holes on the highway!

7.  The GPS took me four different ways.  That’s crazy and I don’t understand why it did that…

8.  The George Washington Bridge isn’t so bad if you go on the top.  Going through the bottom could put me in a crazy home!!

9.  I traveled to PA on a Sunday both times and on a Friday on the way home and I didn’t see a weigh station open once.  What is the point to having them if they are never going to be open??  And it wasn’t like I traveled late in the day, I left Whitman on Sunday at 10am and on Friday at 7:30 the first time and 8:45 the second time.

10.  It was nice to be able to come home for lunch and sit and relax.  We had an hour for lunch, which we don’t do in Taunton and it was nice to have that time to come home.  Just a half an hour in Taunton and I’m too far away to come home.

All in all, it was a great trip but I am very happy to be home!

Diet Diary / ToT Update

So, I’m in the lobby of the hotel I’ve been staying at and they have been great but I’m not feeling great!  I have been good, for the most part and taken almost all of my pills but I am feeling pretty fat still even though I have accomplished a lot of what was on my ToT this week.  I still feel like I am huger than life, though I got on the scale here and it’s 14 lbs smaller than what the Wii says.  Kind of sucks.  I just want it to magically melt away.  I want to wake up one day and be 40lbs smaller.  I don’t want to do the work anymore.   I know that’s crazy and if I’m going to get there, I have to do the work, but I just don’t want to anymore…

As for my ToT on May 31st, I have accomplished quite a bit so far and I still have another week.   Here’s what I’ve done so far:

1.  I finished I Beat the Odds by Michael Oher and started I’ll Walk Alone by Mary Higgins Clark (I need to start doing some book reviews soon, I think I have 4 books finished).

2.  I haven’t gotten a lot of the sewing part done, but I have cut out 2 fabrics of squares and drawn all the rest.  I also picked up the back for Kimmy’s blanket.

3.  I have used the gym 3 out of the 5 nights I have been here!  Not tonight because I don’t want to go home with too much dirty.

4.  i have relaxed on this trip which is great!

5.  I have been okay on the diet.  I had Sonic on Sunday when I got here (bad) and Red Robin on Tuesday (also bad) and then an Oreo Blast from Sonic tonight after a really tasty salad.  Otherwise, I have taken pills with just about every other meal.

6.  I think I wowed them as they want me to stay, even going so far as finding me a place to find some nice houses and where to look for them.

7.  I’ve learned a lot so far though it will all change next week with the new system they are getting…

8.  I haven’t met up with anyone yet though I have found someone I wasn’t sure where he was.

9.  No real exploring yet though there is so much just right here within 1/2 mile from here.

10.  I have been able to sleep until almost 6:30 every morning!  Yeah!

Alright, now to get to my laundry.  Hopefully it’s done so I can head up to the room and get some jammies on.  Have a good night!  Love you!

ToT

Today’s ToT is going to be in regards to things that I saw or thought of during my trip down to Pennsylvania on Sunday.

  1. I love numbers and things that have to do with numbers so I had three things that happen that I thought was pretty cool – While in CT, I had 107 miles until the next direction that I had to take per the GPS and I had also passed mile marker 107 at the same time – When there was 153 miles left of the trip per the GPS, I had 153 miles left on my tank of gas – Lastly, when I had 38 minutes left on my ride, there was 38 miles left on the trip.
  2. There were three car accidents in three different states with at least three cars involved.  One was a roll over, one had a car completely bashed in in the front and one had some pretty good damage to the back of one of the cars involved.
  3. There were motorcycles everywhere, just like the bumper stickers say, but one in particular was pretty cool.  He had a teddy bear in his back pack that was strapped to his back that you could just see the head sticking out.  I’m hoping that he’s bringing it to some sweet kid or as a gift for his girl friend.
  4. I still don’t like New York drivers and I still believe they are what I called them when we went to Maryland.  Those that were there know what I said.
  5. There are some funny names for some of the towns on the way from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, especially in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, though I will be damned if I can remember them now (though I do remember Bedminster).
  6. For a place that I always thought was a bit of a state where there is some money, Connecticut has no problem pointing out exactly where there adult stores are, usually with big, flashy billboards.
  7. For some reason I pictured the area where I was going to be as kind of all land, but it’s a bit of a busy area with so many shops and restaurants.  There isn’t enough time to check everything out, even with two weeks!
  8. I’ve stopped at the rest area in New Jersey a few times and always hate it.  I don’t know why I stop!  It’s like a 5 minute ride to get to it and then back off it.  It’s crazy!
  9. It’s a bit weird driving six hours by yourself but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was.  Don’t get me wrong, I miss my family but it was kind of relaxing in the car with the radio blasting and just enjoying whatever I wanted to listen to!
  10. I can’t tell you how many black Isuzu Rodeo’s I saw and was hoping that one of them was Eric and the kids.  None of them were and I wouldn’t expect them, but it would have been a nice surprise!

First of my ToT done!!

I got to the gym and worked the treadmill for an hour, really 55 minutes, but still!  My legs are burning but I feel great!  Just thought I would mention that I did do something I said I was going to do.  Hopefully I can continue to do it!!  Keep your fingers crossed or send me texts or facebook messages to tell me to get my butt in gear!  I want to be down those 3lbs (and if I’m honest with myself) more by the time I get back in two weeks!

Diet Diary

Got on the scale today and I am down 2.9lbs (3 lbs if you round it up :p)!!  I am super excited and sitting at home with the lap top on my leg, I’m hopefully sweating off that extra .1lb.  I am down to 187, just one measly pound away from my first goal!  I’m hoping to lose 3 lbs while I’m away in PA, which would bring me down a total of 25lbs.  Currently I’m down 22lbs, but that’s from last January.  I’m really only down like 12lbs, but I want to include the total weight loss from when I originally started.  I think that’s okay.  Here’s hoping for that extra 3.  I won’t even be greedy and ask for more, just 3 lbs, to be down to 184 when I get back.  I think I can do it!!

ToT

1.  I haven’t been taking my B6 vitamin for a little bit and I’m feeling it.  It’s an energy metabolism pill and I’m noticing now that I’m having trouble staying up much past 8 right now whereas before I could stay up until at least Eric left for work and usually later than that.  I have to pick up more of that.

2.  I’m nervous about going to Pennsylvania on Sunday.  I hope I make a good impression.  I’m afraid of messing things up.  I’m not afraid of the drive down by myself though.

3.  I feel like there is never enough time or money for anything right now and we are in a bit of a slump.  I’m hoping to get out of it soon though work just offered me some overtime so that will help with one of the issues but not the other one as much.

4.  Brittany hasn’t realized yet that her teacher is not to blame for not putting in the grades for make-up work that Brittany didn’t do in the first place and it’s starting to infuriate me a bit.

5.  Brittany and I started therapy last week.  Seems to be a good thing but I won’t break confidence and tell you what has been said.  It’s going to mess up with my going away though.

6.  As always, the weight loss not seeming to happening is driving me nuts though I have lost 2 lbs between the last two times I got on the scale, but I got my monthly gift and won’t get on the scale right now because you gain weight that week and I don’t want to know.  Don’t know if I will be on before I leave for PA.

7.  I am loving my Nook!  I think I’ve written that before but I do love it so much!  I have read some books I wouldn’t have read if I hadn’t gotten it as I would never have known about them.  I love checking out the free and bargain section and the website Tanya showed me is great!  I check that out weekly looking for new deals. (Just got lost in the page as I was doing this looking for new books)

8.  My mealpayplus.com account for Zachary is driving me nuts!  It’s for his lunch card and I put money on it but I keep getting an email that says I owe money and he only has $1 on the card.  He actually has $10 on the card so I don’t know why it keeps sending me a message.

9.  Having some fun with this quilting thing.  I am enjoying doing it even thinking of making a couple for some customers that are having babies this year.  Should be easy if I just do small crib ones.  Will have to ask Mom how small to make those…

10.  Lastly, I’m going to head out for a walk, as it’s beautiful out.  Have a great week all!

Book Reviews

So since getting my Nook, I’ve read a few books and haven’t had a chance to review them, so here is a quick thing:

10th Anniversary by James Patterson – good book though I don’t think it was the best of them.  Still, couldn’t stop reading the series.  Love it still!!

44 Charles by Danielle Steel – I have read all of her books and for awhile they were all starting to mesh together but I really liked this one.  It was a bit different.  It’s about a woman who ends up having to take in renters and though no one in my life is anything like these people (and I wouldn’t mind have two of them as friends), it was a good book.  I couldn’t put it down.

“C” is for Corpse by Sue Grafton – This one was another in a series (hence the “C”) but I really liked this one.  It was an intriguing story which I had actually started reading in a real paperback but I think it was when I had like 10 books out and I had started reading something else first and hadn’t gotten to that one yet.  When I finally did it was almost time to return it and I couldn’t renew it again.  It was a good one and I also had a hard time putting it down.

Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin – I read this one because the movie is coming out and I wanted to see it.  It was a cute story and I don’t read enough love stories anymore.  I really liked this one.

The Center of Everything by Laura Moriarty – This is a book about a girl, starting in 4th grade and the mess of a life she leads due to her Mom and Grandmother.  It’s a cute book and glad I found it.  I think it was in the free or pretty cheap part of Nook Deals.

I have been reading a ton since getting my Nook and I’m loving it.  I get in any snippet of reading I can!  It’s so much easier to carry this around, though don’t get me wrong.  A book isn’t hard either, but this ALWAYS fits in my purse where a book didn’t always.  I have it with me at all times so that I can open it up and read whenever I can!  I’m actually looking forward to cheer next year, when I sit and wait for Brittany outside the school because I don’t need a light on in the car to read it!  Yeah!
